How do I apply for meal service?
You can call 410-558-0923, press option 1, and someone will assist you with an over the phone application. You can also got the Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland website at www.mealsonwheelsmd.org and click on the Apply for Meals line to fill out an application.
How much will I pay for meal service?
The cost of the meal price is based on a sliding scale fee. If there is subsidy funding available, you will be notified at the time of your application intake.
If I don’t want to disclose my financial information how much will I be charged for meal service?
If a client is not willing to disclose their financial status on the application, they will be charged the highest rate, which is $10.32 per meal.
How often are meals delivered?
Meals are delivered Monday-Friday. The client will choose the days on which they would like to receive meals. A minimum of 3 days a week is required for participation.
Can I increase the frequency of meal delivery?
Yes. At any time, the client can call their 410-558-0923 to request meal delivery changes.
When can I expect delivery of my meal?
Meals are delivered between 10:00 a.m. and 2 p.m. every day of scheduled delivery. Please note * Prince Georges Counties deliveries are delivered between 8am to 4pm.
What if I need to be out one day during the delivery time?
When a client needs to be out, they should call as soon as they know of the date or at least 48 business hours’ notice ahead of time, before 2:00pm to cancel for that day. They can also designate a neighbor or family member to accept their meal.
What if I am out of town?
If a client goes away, they should call the dedicated client engagement number ( 410-558-0923) as soon as they know the date or at least 48 business hours before 2 pm and and advise them of the days they will be away and when they would like meal delivery to resume.
