It has been said that to improve is to change. At Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland we are continuously looking at ways to improve which is why you will soon see changes to our home delivered menu. While we will continue to deliver the same nutritious meals to our clients daily, we have increased menu variety by adding elevated protein choices and more ethnic and diverse sauces and recipes. Some of the new sauces include Romesco, Roasted Red Pepper Sauce, Hawaiian Tropical Glaze, and a Cajun Creole sauce. The upgraded menu also includes regional favorites, such as Cod Loin with Old Bay Cream Sauce and Shrimp Creole.
Additionally, we have added more fresh fruits and vegetables, creating a more diabetic-friendly menu. Regular and premium breakfast choices are now also available in certain geographic locations.
In the Community Dining Program, regular and premium dessert choices have been developed with a local bakery which includes gourmet cakes and cheesecakes, pies and tarts. Weekly Seasonal specials are also now available, and include more variety in the seafood offerings, such as Mahi Mahi and Salmon, and proteins such as Korean BBQ steak tips, Veal Piccata and many more. Look for these exciting changes in our upcoming menu cycle.
