Over past 14 months, the entire world has experienced the tragedy of a global pandemic. The trauma of this past year has and continues to affect many of us as we cope with loss and isolation.
The health and safety of our volunteers, clients, and staff has always been at the forefront of what we do at Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland (MOWCM). Much of our MOWCM family is uniquely vulnerable to severe COVID-19 infection, and we have been dedicated to slowing the spread and protecting one another. From wearing masks at all times to modifying our delivery model, we have stayed up to date on all covid-related information- including vaccine development and availability.
Currently, the state of Maryland is in Phase 3 of the vaccination roll-out, which includes all Marylanders 16 and older. In response, MOWCM has launched a new employee campaign, #RollUpYourSleeves. This campaign is all about delivering accurate and timely information to staff about vaccination in order to help protect our team, as well as the volunteers and clients we interact with. The focus on #RollUpYourSleeves is to meet staff where they are through paper and electronic education materials, validation of personal and societal histories, and assistance in obtaining appointments. We are here to support each other in this continued fight against COVID-19.
