PresidentWhy I'm Passionate:
"I was very privileged to have my maternal grandparents in my life until they were 98 and 102 years young respectively, both of whom lived at home with family members for all but the last few months of their lives. I know the value of allowing individuals to live in their homes safely and with dignity helps to provide better health outcomes. The experiences and memories I got to share with my grandparents are priceless and enriched not only my life, but that of my entire family. While we were fortunate to have family members who could support my grandparents in their advanced years to live safely and still have independence- not everyone is so blessed. This great organization helps address the need to support adults (both elderly and those who experience other challenges) who need additional assistance to live independently. MOWCM not only provides nutritious meals, but valuable support to combat isolation and increase connection when family support is not available or sufficient for any number of reasons. MOWCM work provides not only essential food services but helps to combat the social and racial disparity these vulnerable populations face.
