Employees at Shore United Bank have been volunteering at Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland (MOWCM) for nearly a decade. The bank, which was established in 2017, has had a long-standing relationship with MOWCM dating back to when the bank was known as Community Bank.
Every Wednesday, employees will gather at Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland’s Sherwood site during their lunch hour to deliver meals to older adults. This activity is called a Lunch Bunch. “It’s been a great way for us to give back to the community and support our corporate strategy to serve older adults. We have always enjoyed volunteering with and financially supporting Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland,” said Kristopher Kozlowski, Assistant Vice President and Bank Manager in Owings Mills. MD.
The bank seeks opportunities to deepen our involvement in essential community organizations and activities. “Our Lunch Bunch commitment has no impact on the bank’s operations, and it is a great morale booster because it is a fun thing for us to do – the team enjoys giving back. That’s the most important part of volunteering, you need to like what we are doing,” said Kristopher.
Shore United Bank values corporate social responsibility. “The Lunch Bunch fits squarely in the bank’s community involvement priorities. It is not bad for business either. During client business meetings, the subject of the Wednesday Lunch Bunch seems to come up frequently. Our business partners are pleasantly surprised when we tell them about our volunteer support of Meals on Wheels,” noted Kristopher.
