Accessible & Nutritious
Our mission is to make a positive impact on the lives of those we serve by providing a reliable and convenient solution to meet their dietary needs.
Whether it’s the busy streets of Baltimore, the charming communities of Howard County, or the picturesque landscapes of Carroll County, we are there, bridging gaps and fostering a sense of belonging.
Serving Central Maryland Since 1960
Home Meals Delivered
Dedicated volunteers deliver two daily meals, a warm lunch, and a cold supper, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. These nutritionally balanced meals supply two-thirds of the daily nutrient requirement, with low sodium, fat, and sugar content, all calorie-controlled.
Services cater to individuals of any age or economic status on a regular or temporary basis. Special dietary needs such as no pork, no fish, and texture-modified options are accommodated, ensuring inclusivity and personalized care.
Other Options:
Frozen Meals
Frozen meal choices provide a convenient solution for weekends, holidays, and adverse weather conditions. In specific regions where daily delivery isn’t feasible, frozen meals are available as a weekday alternative Monday through Friday.
This option ensures flexibility in meal access, accommodating diverse schedules and logistical challenges, while still delivering the same nutritional benefits with the convenience of thaw-and-enjoy meals during non-delivery days or periods.
Kosher Meals
Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland’s Kosher Meals are meticulously prepared, under strict OU Kosher supervision through the watchful eye of a mashgiach. The program adheres to the strictest Jewish dietary laws, catering to the most observant individuals. We remain deeply committed to the program in service to the Jewish community and as part of our Organization’s identity owing a great debt to our founders and visionaries, Ernestine McCullum and Beatrice Straus, and gratitude for our enduring partnership with the Associated, Jewish Federation of Baltimore for its annual support of the program.
Korean Meals
In collaboration with Bethany United Methodist Church in Ellicott City, Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland proudly delivers culturally tailored meals to Korean Americans aging in Howard County. Our commitment to the Korean community is evident in various aspects:
- Authentic preparation of traditional Korean foods
- Promotional materials and applications crafted in Korean, resonating with the community
- Engagement and support from community leaders
- Native Korean-speaking volunteers for meal deliveries
- Operational base within the focal point of the Korean community
Recipients of the Korean Meals Program savor genuine Korean dishes, complemented by nutritious soups in each delivery. The program’s unique offerings are made possible through generous funding from Baltimore Gas and Electric.
Medically Taylored Meals
A nutritionally balanced, home delivered meal consisting of hot, cold, and frozen meals aimed at improving overall nutrition and health for older adults and tailored for adults living with diabetes and pre-diabetes, heart disease, or conditions that make it difficult to chew, swallow or digest whole food.
